Hopefully this works out well for the workers. About time the unions got back to pulling their weight.

Of course it's not time. It's never time, not on its own. You make it time. If you're under fire in the no-man's land of WW1, you start digging a foxhole even if the ideal time would be when you *aren't* being bombarded, because once you wait for it to be 'time', other situations will need your attention, assuming you survive that long. If the fields aren't furrowed, plow them. If the iron is not hot, make it so. If society is not ready, change it.

Ever heard of the NLRA? Or the International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights? Or simply human rights? Yeah, you won't be able to send in the Pinkertons now that labour rights have been successfully codified. Also read this:

GM is probably gonna start automating even more now.I support the workers obviously but now with automation, they can just replace their jobs with machines.

Why don't the workers, the largest group in society, simply eat the rich?

I was mocking Kowani's position that rights are just privileges. I don't really believe in the violent suppression of strikes, unless it devolves into a riot or something.

Well hopefully both sides work out an amicable solution, but I do think the workers are in the right here. GM made massive profits this year, which means the workers should see some benefits, and that massive cost cutting is not even necessary.
