What's disturbing is that a US congresswoman gave a speech at an event held by the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a designated terrorist organization which advocates on behalf of ISIS members trying to get into America and was closely involved with the Holy Land Foundation, a terrorist funding front organization. It's disturbing that a US congresswoman made a thinly-veiled remark about Jews being loyal to eachother over the nation. It's disturbing that two US congresswomen partnered with a group that claims Jews use the blood of Christians in religious rituals, publishes neo-nazi literature, and celebrates and idolizes terrorists and suicide bombers.

If it were a white man saying the things about Jews Omar has said, attending a rally held by the KKK instead of CAIR, celebrating an artist who participated in the Iranian Holocaust cartoon contest like Omar has, there would be nonstop condemnation from all corners of the political spectrum. Just look at what happened to Steve King. But Omar is just given a free pass because she's a non-white woman.

None of that's really disturbing. When you look at her district it's not surprising that this sort of person would be elected. What's disturbing is that the Democrats refused to condemn it. It shows that they lack the Republican's willingness to alienate the toxic elements of their party a la Steve King.

Pffft, King is an expendible drop in the bucket compared to Trump. There isn't a collection of people threatening to murder King in his home district either.

I personally don't though their influence over the "Progressives" is astonishing. Yet, it hasn't moved the needle much for Sanders, whom The Squad had endorsed. I'll give them credit for being courageous with pushing their goals but their views are not that great.

The squad is willing to breaks ranks with the saner dems in favor of radical positions, and has the ablity to spoil their majority in the house. which means that pelosi needs to do dumb shit, like hold that public impeachment inquiry in order to keep them appeased. So they need to be taken a seriously as anything the democrats are doing in the house. Their election success' also emboldened progressives to run in the democrat primary

Outside of progressives? Not really; they won because they represent extremely progressive districts. I live in a fairly liberal area and while the Squad has support here, their supporters are very much in the minority. That being said, their ability to force action in the House via their supporters is impressive, but IMO the long-term implications of their actions will do more harm than good.
