What really gets you going for her? The support for brutal dictatorships, the weird homophobic past, the Tucker Carlson appearances? Something else?

Well Hillary does support the Cuban regime, but all the Democrat Presidential candidates support the Cuban regime, especially Bernie Sanders.

Also she's the only one calling out the military industrial complex and endless war. Even Bernie Sanders (who I will vote for) is somewhat weak on foreign policy issues compared to Tulsi.

I doubt it will happen but I hope President Sanders makes her Secretary of State or Secretary of Defense.

But I hope President Trump wins reelection in 2020.

Yeah, if he had declared back in like January I would be 100% behind him given his progressive policies and the fact that he has won in a purple/leaning red state. But yeah, we need every Senate seat we can get, and entering now would be way too late.

I also have the same feelings about Tammy Baldwin as well. Progressive, has won in a purple state, and has the added benefit of being younger but also having experience. But alas, it's too late now.

He's not the only viable alternative. Also, when he's not campaigning for himself he's a pretty good guy to have on the road. Which is exactly what he'll become for whoever wins.

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

Youre right he's not the only viable alternative but he's the most likely one. And while I'm sure he's a nice guy in person, it doesn't change the fact that Joe Biden would just be a return to the status quo

Oh, if he ran, there's a good chance he could become the nominee and win the election. Hell, he would be one of the best choices for VP. Unfortunately, he's in a Swing State becoming increasingly red. Still worth to have him as a VP though if I was a Democrat.

That would depend on how strong the candidate was otherwise with labor. I agree that Brown, most years, would win the nomination, but he'd be wasted as president.

Well, the only people I can think that are remotely strong with Labor ties are Biden, Warren, and Sanders; the others I don't know. If it is someone like Buttigieg, he'll need to pick someone from a Swing State (they all should) and someone with a strong Labor Record because I do think he's lacking it to an extent.

I'm not sure if any Democrat can take Georgia in terms of the Presidency but I think they could win one of the Senate Seats if they play their cards right. Of course, if Stacey Abrams efforts of registering and getting people out to vote are successful, then may Georgia will be closer, if not won by Democrats. For that to happen though, they'll need high turnout among suburban women and African Americans I would think.

I'm not sure - Biden obviously isn't my favorite, so I'm biased here, but all these early polls showing him winning a "landslide" in purple to light red states seems premature - his popularity is akin to Hillary's around this same time frame in late 2015, generated primarily by name recognition and some vague understanding of him/her being the "consensus candidate."

Not to mention there's a reason there's an October surprise and not a "November the year before" surprise.

Lol, you’ll have to give Tom Edsall, Michael Lund, and Diopolis credit for that idea. My original theory was that a post-Trump GOP will make significant gains with African-American and Latino voters- partly because the current Republican party is facing a demographic time bomb with how reliant it is on angry white Christians- and partly because the social/cultural disconnect between educated, urban white progressives and less educated, less well-off nonwhite voter blocs is real. I think Asians will continue voting moderately Dem overall by a similar margin as they do today.
