Seriously what the actual hell? First my state bans it and now the president. Why is the government waging a war against e cigarettes now? Did they seriously not learn from the war on drugs? I don't care if kids like the flavors, most of the people who smoke vapes are adults and I can't believe they're gonna ban us from smoking a good flavored vape cause tommy 12 year old wants to smoke too. Why are they just randomly deciding to ban them? Shouldn't we at least be able to vote on this?

you notice also how they aren't banning alcohol again or cigarettes, two things that are more dangerous than flavored e cigs. Is the anti vape movement so out of touch with reality that they forgot that kids used to desperately try to get their hands on cigarettes and beer before vapes existed? What is this? The government needs to stay out my business and mind its own, because I see them in my business and everyone else's every single day and I didn't ask them to be.

Anyone with common sense wouldn't bring the government into this debate, or most other debates. They should stick to fixing the roads and maintaining public order

Lol, you seem to be lacking in good judgment. Your "side" in this debate doesn't even have a leg to stand on, just wild reactionary, authoritarian, prohibitionist dogma for the most part.

There are health risks involved in vapeing and there should be more warnings put on vapeing.

That said, just outright banning e juices is rather extreme.

Also why is this not in the trump mega thread?

This only became a big deal when a lot of people including kids suffered lung damage or died from what might be e-juices tainted with vitamin E acetate oil.

I think the way that Trump is doing this is completely wrong, banning E cigarettes isnt a good idea as the original purpose of it to help actual smokers cut down will certainly hurt many people. The main issue with the E cigarettes is that teens are taking the idea of "being healthier than cigarettes" and misinterpreting it into "it's completely safe to use". We need to do exactly what we did with cigarettes before, prohibit advertising, put an age restriction on the purchase of E cigs and E cig cartridges. I'm a teen and I know that regular cigs and E cigs are dangerous most don't and simply use E cigs to "look cool" exactly what was happening with cigarettes back then it's an obvious case of repeating history. I may be a Trump supporter but I agree with most people in that Trump is taking this way too far because he's an old fart who doesn't realize what's actually happening with these.

God bless Canada, where the weed is legal, and the e-cigarettes are unregulated! But seriously if they were to try and ban them in Canada, I have enough e-juice around that I can happily vape away for the next 20 years.

If this isn't a moral panic then I don't know what is. Schools are blowing money on vape detectors, as if spending money to stop clouds of fruity pebbles is a better alternative to saving the money for some new books and desks. Hope my old high school isn't doing this shit because those broke assholes can't even afford to keep the AC running.

Once again, bans on products usually don't work and now I'm certain I'm gonna see some guy named jose selling black market e cigs on the corner in downtown.

In a nation of unchecked lobbying, a lot of laws are the result of huge donations and backroom meetings. Strange how this moral panic about vapes suddenly exploded overnight

Big tobacco has been heavily investing in e-cigs for a while now, so I don't think that theory goes very far.

One of the largest tobacco companies has quite a large investment in one of Britain's leading e-liquid manufacturers, and I know they ship to the US. Big tobacco seems to have taken a hand in promoting e-cigs, at least on this side of the pond.

Our health regulator also loves them, which might help.

Big tobacco has every reason to get rid of e cigs, both to stomp out anything that could help a person quit smoking and because many e cigs are produced by small companies outside the sphere of the tobacco lobby. The tobacco industry wants to pump out as many classic cancer sticks as possible.

I think that the government just needs to make the vapes less easily accessible to people who are underage. Vapes shouldn't be used just to be cool. They should be used to help people who are trying to stop smoking. The police officer at my high school told us about multiple people at the school who were/are hospitalized because of vaping.
