If I remember the math correctly from the last GCT, it's something like less then a single percent of a single percent of people in the us are victims of a random act of homicide in the US, and dropping.

the fact remains I'm more likely to get shot in the US than I am in Germany, Canada or New Zealand. Indeed the Countries that issued US Travel Warnings do so because "a guarantee that you will not get shot in the US is impossible"

No country can give that guarantee. Sure we have a higher murder rate (but a massive portion is gang on gang, criminal on criminal) than some countries, but a lower one than many others.

We are not the best, but nor are we the worst on that.
