Pizza Hut is going to close the majority of its dine ins to focus on delivery

This represents the growing trend away from dine in restaurants, especially after GrubHub and DoorDash have taken off recently. I won’t be surprised if small business diners start their own delivery programs soon, I guess Americans are becoming too lazy to get out of the house.

It’s just more convenient. Which I suppose is part of the greater trend in the decline of brick and mortar.

Ironically, it seems people are starting to like brick and mortar again, investors are flooding back in. Some smart companies partnered with e-commerce and boosted themselves, like Kohl’s.

Call me heartless, but I struggle to find any sympathy at all with people who enter the property market and dump a load of money into housing, only to whine when the market drops. If they invested their money they'd get a guaranteed return, but nooooo, gotta make a lot of money by selling houses.

Real estate is one of the best assets you can get, as it rarely depreciates much, especially fi you know the area you’re buying in

There’s rumors that Trump and Modi will be discussing up and coming Indian companies like Jio and Mahindra to penetrate into the US market

If that happens, what is the possibility of the Indian economy skyrocketing like what happened in China not too long ago?

Considering that India already is a BRIC country (upcoming economic powers), it's very likely. Asia is booming. The future of world trade is in that region. Will it improve the quality of life in india? I don't know. But Indian businessmen are about to strike gold

Not necessarily... There's an extremely high chance that they would definitely get a return but remember, higher risk means there has to be a higher reward but there is still that risk. If you dump all your eggs into Enron or some shit and it goes belly up... well you're up shit creek without a paddle or a canoe.

If you invest, always diversify... learned that the hard way a couple weeks back... 7

An African Economic Union? Like a currency union? Fuck me, have they not seen how badly the euro went?! Optimal Currency Area theory really needs to be taught to world leaders...

Anyway, I'm sort of an economist, doing a doctorate in economics atm but I focus on more micro and game theory than finance or macro so I'm not sure how much I can add to this thread.

I don't think so. I think it represents a shift in the dichotomy between fast food and sit down restaurants. People have the option of eating at home so they don't want take the time out of their day to go to a restaurant if it's not someplace nice to spend time at. Same reason we're seeing fast food places setting up delivery and putting kiosks where tables used to be.

Does anyone actually sit down to eat at mcdonalds?

Like seriously, is there anyone who would actually legit dine out at mickey D's? Cause just eating that food seems unbelievable to me, and every McDonald's near my house looks like the place someone would get mugged in or a fight would break out

It's mainly a thing to do when the McDonald's is on the way to somewhere else you're going that you can't bring food into. It can also be a place to sit down and chill when you're drunk or high, although I would always prefer IHOP myself.

Once when I was 18, me and like 12 other people wandered over to an ihop in the early morning hours after a party, because we had the worst munchies in history. Even if I'm high, I still wont go near the cursed place we call the McDonalds.
