Please remember that throughout history, cultural continuums have rarely bothered to stop at borders. So what constitutes "European" or "Levantine" culture is irrelevant. What is relevant is that nations in proximity to one another undergo developments in the same direction. Turkey, Cyrpus, and the western part of the fertile crescent have shared a lot of material cultures, social developments, economic revolutions, political history, and mutual influencing. Why would today be the exception to that rule? Is not Greece overrun with social movements (literally) from the Levant? Is not Israel a member of the European broadcasting network, and has it not paved the way for Armenia and Azerbaidjan to join? Are not members of the EU invested in developmental aid to Palestine?

Even in the most "European" nations, gay rights marches were initially met with backlash. First they were ignored, then they were fought, and then they won. In Lebanon, the backlash was a reaction to the emergence. In Palestine, it will be the same. But all the same, the LGBT pride will emerge. For the police to feel the need to issue a blanket warning proves to me that something is stirring.

This is nothing but a PA distraction technique. The PA is corrupt, they haven't won Palestine an official state yet and they also can barely control law and order within their own border. People are already so against the PA that they organized this publicity stunt to try and win back some support.

In the end, Palestine needs a third way. Not corrupt mismanagement like the PA nor Islamism like hamas, and definitely not israeli occupation.
