In their attempt to carve out an existence, they may actually be dooming their existence and their children's futures. Enjoy this society while it lasts kids, cause it won't be here by the end of the century. Just smoke, drink and be merry while our country burns...and floods, and freezes and gets smashed by a hurricane or four or ten

Mankind will survive the cataclysm, and we can actually start over again.

Yeah a lot of people will die and while countries will be wiped out, but I like to see it as a fresh start. A new beginning for human society...and the end of the most advanced nations that will probably ever grace the world because we mined all the resources necessary for advanced tech out of existence but as I said, the glass is half full

Its very possible we dont and the planet will be uninhabitable

I think the planet will always be "habitable," just not for all species. The climate is gonna warm and weather patterns will change, causing horrible disasters and despair. But I don't think the air will become unbreathable. If amything, it'll be cleaner after 100 years of human industry no longer existing

So they should stop farming and feeding themselves? I mean, better farming practices would be a good way to go but stopping altogether? You are being rather selfish.

Lumen talking about the animals being killed genuinely hit me hard tbh. While I've becoming a cold insensitive ghost of a human being, I still have a soft spot for furry critters and when they suffer, it genuinely disturbs me.

Guess I'm not the most soulless member of my lost generation.

Animals there are indeed victims, and it is unfortunate. Amazonian deforestation and fires aren’t a victimless problem. Everyone who depends on the Amazon for survival is.
