Even if we manage to get out in time, I'm pretty sure that if the future generations hold the same views as yours, the other 'earth' will face similar fate.

Running away is not the right option. This is the mistake of our generation, of the previous generation, and it's time to fix it. Earth is and will always be the homeland of the human race.

Also, if we run away then that just means future generations will just destroy other planets instead of learning from their ancestors mistakes.

Your biggest mistake is implying that I only want one other earth.... I just dont simply believe that problems such as scarcity and consumption will be nearly as much of an issue in the near future as alternative means of energy production and the like are developed... Im not saying we shouldn't develop cleaner tech for the future but rather that we should see the earth as a lost cause in its current state and focus our resources towards exploration and colonization

The other 'earth' that I imply is just a term to refer to the planet(s) that may be colonized by us in the future.
The damages that we have done to earth may be approaching irreversible, but we have to do something to reverse some of the worse setbacks.

At least that forest is no longer in the way of my gold and oil mining operations in Brazil.

No clue how they all got started.

Deregulating anything ends up causing a huge FUBAR. There is a reason why America is such a fucked up place ever since Ronald Reagan and his crackpot team of Austrian school ancaps privatized nearly every government service there is and eviscerated what little welfare system America had, while giving numerous billion dollars handouts to the military, intelligence agencies, large corporations, and the wealthiest oligarchs. Removing environmental regulation is the best recipe for disaster.

Deliberately lit fires aren't supposed to happen, but taiga forests (which includes Alaska, all of Canada, as well as most of Scandinavia) outside of Siberia all are composed of the kinds of trees that require periodical burning for regeneration and reproduction, among other things. Fires in the taiga are natural and have been occurring there long before human intervention. But they are getting worse because of humans, and the periods where large fires occur are becoming more frequent, rather than the 100-200 year fire cycles in places like Canada for example.

Here's an interesting map of the fires in South America. I've noticed interesting clumps in Ecuador and far northwest Peru as well, both in areas where dry forests are known to dominate.

I've also noticed a lot of clusters in areas where active deforestation is happening, which shouldn't be surprising, but also a lot of fires in central-eastern Brazil, especially in places with dry forests such as the cerrado, South America's second largest biome after the Amazon and one that is seeing massive clearing and deforestation for farming, population expansion, and charcoal.

But you see, the richest of the rich and those who want to be rich are gonna make tons of money off of this stuff, and they might one day be oh so generous enough to share a nice, measly portion with us common folk.

How could this ever go wrong?

Their ignorance goes beyond the issue occurring. They live firmly in the belief that they and theirs will be fine no matter what happens and that's just silliness.

Seriously though, just because there is going to be problems doesn't mean we can't at least try to limit how bad it is, and considering that reforestation is becoming more popular and other means of carbon capture are growing cheaper and easier, it is dangerous to suggest that we might as well give up now.

While we might be able to do something, I doubt people will, so I've devoted my energy to figuring out how we can survive this global disaster. Humanity will make it through this, but I don't think our modern societies will

Politics should keep a distance from science. What the hellfire does he know?

A sucky thing would be when nobody admits responsibility for what they've done or not.

Say Bolsonaro's term ends. Will he ever take responsibility for the fire? Probably not, just pinning the blame on someone else.
And yes, potential revisionists may go to the snakepits if they please.
