Out of the box, the lowest priced laptop offering at retail just really sucks from what I read; as to be hardly usable.

I've done this to one of these twice.

First I put Ubuntu on it... that was good for a year or two, then I had to put Ubuntu on it again (earlier this year, I think?) and we seem good. Someone suggested I use an SD card but I don't really use it as a laptop... I use it as a television via an HDMI. I guess I might put Ubuntu on a third time... it seems completely sustainable just replacing and replacing.

(Not that I'm saying Ubuntu is lightweight... I don't know if it is... the bit I've done is put a Linux system on.)

LibreOffice is a little better than Google Docs etc. but they really don't compare to Microsoft Office. This is a main reason why I don't use this laptop for work purposes often... I have another (older and heavier) laptop for that. It was fine for doing some stuff in R though, but I don't do any work in R any more (different courses).

I hate it when the light's out. I can do nothing but playing with my handphone in the dark (not healthy, I know), staring into the Void, or just sleeping. I can always go to the college's mosque nearby for the light, but I can't charge my phone there.

What good is a religious building if it doesn't have electricity or wifi :(

There is no available socket for me here to charge my phone, though yeah.....the zero availability of free wifi there sucks :p

One redeeming quality it has is the canteen near the basement, but since it's night the place is going to be closed soon.

Again.

Indeed. TET is a wholesome kind of place where the only thing we encourage young people to do is eat their vegetables and get a good night's sleep.

I thought TET was fun. :p

Yes, calling oneself a humanitarian in TET is an easy way to make people retreat quickly.

Eat the healthy.

Anything else would be against health regulations.

The health regulations, strict as they are, do not allow you either, yet here you are.

Does he fall down the stairs? Or try to vacuum out the oven?

Still better company than people with the same characteristics. Its outdoor cousin, the robotic lawnmower, is almost suspiciously silent in comparison.
