From your same source.
Also from that source:• 41 per cent say Jesus Christ will return within the next 40 years while 46 per cent say this will definitely or probably not happen.
In terms of percentage, more Republicans believe that the Earth will or probably will warm than Americans overall believe that Jesus Christ will return in the next 40 years.

You don't have to be a manual worker to be a part of a worker's union or a cooperative or even a commune, though. Having Socialism =/= suddenly reducing all of society to manual labor, after all.Greater vakolicci haven wrote:What if I just don't care that much though?
Then that just sounds like a you problem at that point and a high form of dickery, chief.

Lucky for you, one of the core ideas of Socialism is that the laborer will earn the full value of their labor, rather than a portion of it according to what your boss deems fit for you to earn, as is the case under Capitalism.

I think you misunderstand me.
I consider myself a generous person. I give money to friends quite often, I give to charities, I will buy food for homeless people. I do a regular donation run for my local foodbank. I choose to do these things. I don't choose to put all of my money in some kind of collective picnic basket, however.

... But that last thing has nothing to do with Socialism, though. I think you're missing the point of what "social ownership of the means of production" (AKA the basic definition of Socialism) means; you earn the full value of your labor and you own the fruits of your own labor, but you share the business or what-have-you with your fellow workers, assuming you work in a multi-person business or what-have-you.

And lucky for us we aren't a socialist nation.

So if I do some work, and demand a certain price for it, I have to share the ownership of that price with the person who answers the telephone?

Going to ask you one more time to make sure - they deserved to get raped by rats because they voted for a socialist?

If you're working with a group of other workers to make and sell a product, then you would collectively share the profits of your labor, since all of you are contributing in some manner or another in your business. However, the good thing about Socialism is that you're pretty much guaranteed to have a democratic workplace, which means you and the others can collectively decide how profits are distributed and whatnot. You could have a model where people receive equal pay for each hour they work, or some other model that was decided upon by all of you.
