It's a shame that you have that mindset because you're selling yourself short. One of the most stirring passages of religious literature is the Lotus Sutra where Sariputra laments that he has achieved the lesser state of an arhat and hasn't reached the self-perfection of the Buddha. The Buddha assures him that everything until then had been a means to work toward complete enlightenment.

“You will become a buddha called Padmaprabha, a Tathāgata, Arhat, Completely Enlightened, Perfect in Knowledge and Conduct,Well-Departed, Knower of the World, Unsurpassed, Tamer of Humans,Teacher of Devas and Humans, Buddha, Bhagavat.Your land will be called Viraja. No, you're assuming that ordinary human suffering applies to an exalted spiritual state which is beyond space and time.

That would be beyond physical reality does not actually mean that my personality ceases to exist-else there would be no reason to pursue liberation.

Immortality isn't an expedient power to have. Think about it.

You get to see all your friends and family die.
You're rendered obsolescent by society unless you magically remain youthful along with it (and healthful enough to work and consume products)
It gets boring. After about 200 or 300 years, what are you going to do? Every day will just be excruciating pain until one somehow ends their lives. And anyway, if one has no desire to live, there's only so many times that "spark" can be reignited. After hundreds of years of boredom and pain, euthanasia would probably be the proper option. If even possible, as this suggests one is imbued with everlasting, unquenchable life.

That's not the kind of immorality I was referring to. The Buddha is said to possess a transcendental body which does not die, as well as being endowed with supernatural powers and omniscience. Which is obviously quite different from the scenario you mentioned.

The limited nature of existence gives the world value. That is, an existence with no temporal or physical bounds means you can learn or see anything with no effort, and that decreases the value of even the most beautiful sights. It's a philosophical law of diminishing returns.
