You realise that whoever gets to define something isn't solely determined by whoever uses that word to describe themselves, right? People can use words in the wrong manner whether they identify with them or not.

It doesn't though, otherwise Castro's family would remain in power after Raul died. There's nepotism in all hierarchical systems, yes, but aristocracy codifies nepotism into the formal organization of society.

Except by the time America became a Republic it had been practicing localized self-governance for awhile. The model that replaced monarchy had been tested and found viable. In the case of abolishing private property, the results have been a good deal more dim overall, especially after the initial luster of revolution has vanished. We get political and social corruption on a broad scale. We get the mob burning things and committing atrocities. We get the institutionalization of lawlessness.

And yet there was a period of over a thousand years after democracy was invented where it was considered anarchistic and was not a mainstream view. Now it is. The idea that everything was monarchical until the U.S. made it cool to be a republic is just false. Most of Europe was once united under a republic, remember? That did not end well for them. Surely, you would say to me in 1600, nearly every republic has devolved in tyranny, so we must remain monarchical.

If you need something easy that's basically a Q&A session, I'd recommend The Principles of Communism, although it, like the Manifesto, is from very early in Marx' and Engels' career (their views had not fully evolved yet). Another short-ish read is Capitalist Realism: Is There No Alternative? by Mark Fisher, which might be a little more advanced, but I find it highly interesting.

Also, if you're like me and find reading more bothersome than listening/watching, then I would highly recommend the Youtube Channel called Cuck Philosophy (very interesting name, yes).
