He's wrong about that part. The "America was on the lowest level of the mountain" is the correct part.

Without a doubt. As much as I like federalism, American "culture" leaves a lot to be desired (Westerns are cool though, but the best were made by Italians).

Eh. I'd say the only place in America with anything resembling culture is New England and New York. The west, other than a few key cities, has nearly nothing to offer (and one of those cities I doubt most people would see as culture, even if I do)

Italy's populist left wing 5-star movement being in coalition with the far-right worked out really well when the far-right suddenly pulled a betrayal, tried to push for total control, spilled their spaghetti everywhere, and led to the collapse of their movements support while the 5 star movement does the whole confused cat reaction to yelling lady meme.

So now it'll be 5 star in control without the far-right.

Something to learn from maybe. Forcing them to reveal they care more about hating the left than actually dealing with the establishment and so on.

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

Everywhere in the world has a culture. Literally, everywhere.

Also, this is a phenomenon you're witnessing but not understanding. You see, when a country is the dominant force in its region or the world then other countries tend to adopt aspects of said dominant country's culture, mixing it with their own or just taking and adapting aspects outright. This causes people to believe that the dominant state doesn't have a culture and that it does nothing but steal other cultural aspects (Even people who live in the dominant state believe this), when in reality it's the opposite, the main country's culture has extended beyond its borders to such an extent that other countries believe the dominant country's culture is a part of their own.

Don't believe me? Look at what Rome and Greece did to Europe during their heydays. Or Japan, China, and Korea, who all share many cultural aspects that have also permeated throughout Asia and the Americas. Or Ethiopian images and symbols spreading throughout and becoming symbols of Africa as a whole.

Not really. My problems with American "culture" is beyond that of "muh McBurgers and McFreedum" or shit like that (Ironically enough, I view a lot of points in America as a good thing that many people calling the US cultureless abhor. Las Vegas, the Hollywood, etc. included). I have the same problems with the US now that I did at any point from early 1800s onwards (Apart from New England, New York, and later some parts of Nevada and California)

It's real perplexing in the US's case, cuz the territories they took were more or less "civilised" in the first place.

Eh, only in Cuba and Puerto Rico's case, The Philippines were seen as a land ruled barbarians who still lived in the dark ages and needed to advance and become a proper society.

Can you guess what the main difference between them was?

It's not really a mistake. They are a far-right movement, of course they'll betray and attack anything on their way to power.

I'm not sure what to make of that leftvalues test.

As always the categorisation is the weakest element of these, but the numbers are about right.

Weirdest 8values fork I've seen. Love how everything is some shade of red except Anarchism and Ecology.

I took the test for shits and giggles and the results crack me up. I had to answer weirdly on so many questions because they all assume you're a socialist. That decentralism score particularly amuses me.

Yes, that is generally the meaning of "left" and it's immediately obvious from the color scheme.
