Seems to be part of a larger discussion about ethics. Sam Seder argues that he believes in reducing harm, where Tim Pool is all about "deontology" and individual morals. Sam Seder sticks to his guns on what Pool calls his "utilitarianism", and Pool's counter argument is "utilitarians are the bad guys in movies" and cites the last two Avengers movies as examples. And Seder, understandably, is not impressed by Pool comparing him to Thanos.
