The way i envision military service is but an extension of the educational system. That is a reason for the 4 years of service.

The way I envision the system is like this:

Phase I is middle school where children are introduced to very light military exercises and gun handling.
Phase II is high school is where teenagers graduate to more intensive military exercises and expand on their gun handling capabilities along with light pro state propaganda
Phase III is military service where the soldiers now focus on military education, exercises and learning their assigned military roles and consume a good portion of state propaganda.

After this you will earn your citizenship. Which in my hypothetical state you earn by hard work and loyalty and not by being born.

No you earn it by by providing service to the nation and proving you have assimilated into it.

It's not so difficult if the country doesn't have birthright citizenship. There have been plenty of cases in Australia and the UK where people have been deported to a foreign country despite being born and raised in the UK.

Fact is that various "progressive" changes to the US were only the result of activist judges and extensive liberal lobbying and inserting "hacks" into the original engine, often quite in contradiction to the original intend and design purposes of what it's founders had in mind. The military-industrial state i mentioned is also an entity that in many ways is anathema.

Thats one reason why "libertarians" hate it so much.

I don't believe in the idea of a benevolent authoritarian of totalitarian government as they've never actually existed, and any example of one that I've seen has always had an air of malevolence beneath whatever veneer of "positivity" they may be trying to present.
