LWDT 8: Hitting the Marx

Huh, so that LeftValues thing literally just added a "Conservative vs. Progressive" axis and 12 new questions, so I redid it real quick and this is the result.

Interestingly, I got a higher revolutionary, decentralist, and internationalist score, a lower scientific score, a slightly lower union score (oof), and a lower environmentalist score (bigger oof). The progressive score's pretty neato though, if not pretty low, and it's still got me pinged as an Eco-Anarchist which, again, is super valid.

I retook it too, with mostly the same incidental changes. (The exception, the Union/Party axis, seems to have been weighted more towards the middle.) I maxed out my Internationalist score too. I also got 75% progressive, and the other 25 percent seems to be because... I like marriage... wait what? How is that conservative? Conservatives are the ones who divorce all the time and try to ban others from marrying.

Yeah, this more or less seems more accurate than the last time I played with the test, although I still feel like I'd be further towards Centralized Economies; I mostly chose "neutral" for questions when it came to whether or not regional planning was better than one big plan for the entire nation, however, and the same when whether or not Agriculture should be industrialized was brought up.

Those centuries might be used better to prepare primitive communism. Less effort wasted for a cause than cannot happen now.

Really, the only way it could stick together for any reasonable period of time is by pretending an outside enemy exists by constantly reigning terror on your own population, to force internal unity through the fear of an outside threat, but this is 1) stupid, 2) needlessly destructive, and 3) unsustainable. Eventually you run out of people to terrorize, terror to provide, or people catch on that "the barbarians at the border" are actually also part of the country and not the ones razing the villages periodically.

To believe that exclaiming social engineering will accomplish a goal that does not need attention within a period of time on which humanity will not care about the goal may be wrong, but to believe that it is more desirable to pursue this than useful is unwise.
