Obviously the only reason the Holocaust occurred was because some SPD lads decided to have a civil debate with Hitler, and not a million other occurrences, surely.

Meanwhile, on an anti-semitic forum: Why are non-antisemites so weird?
And both kept repeating how the other was stupid and dumb...

You think I'm an antisemite because I suggested speaking with an antisemite to resolve your confused views on them? Talk about paranoid. It's like the NWO theory but for the far-right.

antisemitism is a tower of duct tape. it's part fascism, part magic, part blind hatred, part scapegoating, etc.

Yeah. NSG is an echo chamber in many ways. I myself thought about trying to explain why some people may be anti-semitic, but why bother, when even taking one step in the opposite direction of the general consensus will get you accused of being an antisemite - A sin akin to blasphemy in the Middle-Ages, it seems.

I don't give a damn about any of those things, as I'm no leftist. It is the region where you reside that made me suspicious, especially when holocaust denial and Hitler praise are common on that RMB.

AKAIK the fleur-de-lis is a symbol of frenchness in general, not necessarily in a nationalist way

Oh yeah? And be called antisemitic? I already contributed with my original post.
Somewhere, antisemites are gathering and saying how sheepish the non-antisemites are, and are probably using well-crafted stereotypes to invalidate any non-antisemitic view, in perfect mirroring of what is unfolding in this thread.

Except my Reasons for thinking they're weird is not "Oh they dislike Jewish people that's so weird."

I can comprehend simple prejudice and it isn't weird. Unfortunate perhaps... But not weird.

things always get weird with Antisemites. always. It's always some nonsense about curses and hypnotism and apocalypses and any number of other crazy things.

Being prejudiced isn't weird to me. But listening to an Antisemite speak is like listening to the more racist version of Harry Potter and the portrait of what looks like a large pile of ashes.

That's exactly what I said later on: Both sides use the most extreme representation of the other side to discard the other side as idiotic.

Kowani wrote:Your initial post was a “But Both Sides!” bullshit.

Tell me how my initial bullshit invalidates my current stack of bovine excrements. Both sides have reasonable people. The big surprise here isn't that anti-antisemites are reasonable; most of them are. Among antisemitic circles it is true that some theories are completely outlandish, but unfortunately for you, the enemy has some clever people within its ranks too. Attention: Saying this does not mean I endorse their views :!: Signalling this is mandatory lest I be accused of it. I don't like doing it but I hope it'll save the accusations.

Antisemitism largely shows through conspiracy theories, many of which associate them with the Freemasons, who are at the very least seen as occult. It's also because of the Biblical associations with Jews. Although too be fair, from what I've seen most antisemites don't subscribe to these types of conspiracies, and prefer political, media, and economic conspiracies.

Pot, meet kettle. Your first paragraph could easily be describing your own tactics that you use when dealing with gender issues.

Not particularly mate. Calling out the tactic is not the same as using it yourself. What I do on gender issues is more akin to me saying "The financial crash was caused by deregulation, not by Jews as neo-nazis argue because they hate Jews.". This is different to your cariacature of what I do, which his akin to saying I argue; "The financial crash was caused by neo-nazis!"

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.
