No. It's just a scapegoat to blame an unrelated topic in place of the actual issues: Radicalism, mental health, and lax gun laws and their enforcement.

I played violent video games all the time in my childhood and I still do. Yet, I have never shot anyone nor stabbed anyone. The last time I committed an act of violence was when I beat the shit out of a bully in junior high school that was beating up one of my classmates that was in a wheelchair. Yes, that bully was that pathetic.

Once I lost a match of Halo Reach to my friend Austin, so I punched my pillow in my bedroom out of anger

Damn, that videogame made me violent

No, it's just an excuse used by Trump (and others) to not take action to enforce stricter laws about guns.

If you ask the above question to Trump (and others) while speaking about videogames, they're going to answer "yes".

Okay, think about it for a moment, then google images search with "gun range" or "shooting range", then show them the pictures and then ask them again the same question...their brains are going to explode, because at least half the pictures will be like that:

Timesplitters 2 is the finest game ever made and it was best on Gamecube. Joystick aiming for the win on that one.

Trump is such a hypocrite for attacking violent videogames. This dude spent much of his campaign egging his audience on to beat the shit out of protesters, said "maybe the second amendment people can do something about Hillary clinton," threatened riots if he wasn't nominated at the RNC and constantly accuses his personal enemies of being "enemies of the people." I wanna know what videogame made him so violent if he thinks his theory is correct

I have emotions but I've learned to hide them. I tend not to talk to a lot of people these days so as far as the general public is concerned, I'm nothing but a shadow out of the corner of their eye.

That might depend on the video game.

The majority of Baby Boomers don't play video games or grew up in an era where it wasn't a big thing, but if they have lots of influence in government, it is easy enough for them to simply blame video games than to do anything against guns which is more their thing.

Me too. One of Stalin’s quotes (which is actually featured on the HOI4 loading screen) is “A single death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a statistic.”

That’s how HOI4 feels. That’s also sort of how mass shootings feel, at least to me.

Funnily enough though, he didn't actually say that according to research on the subject:
https://quoteinvestigator.com/2010/05/2 ... statistic/

even Wikiquote doesn't acknowledge him every saying the quote in recorded history:
https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Joseph_St ... attributed

Nevertheless, in games like HOI4, it does end up being completely true.

I cry at random times-or want to.

Like in the July Debates weirdly when people like Williamson were talking.

Anyway guys, Videogames don't cause violence. This uneducated bullshit needs to die.

Crying isn’t really emotion. Sometimes people just cry for the sake of it. It isn’t necessarily sadness, just... crying.

They blame the thing with literally no connection to the shooting.

It was junior high (known in some parts as middle school) and I was in the 8th grade. But, yeah it was very shameful behavior. Especially since his idiot friends were laughing as he used that poor kid as a punching bag. Luckily for me the school authorities preferred to keep the whole thing in the dark so I got off with a warning. The dumb bully had to get stitches on his face and left the school shortly after.
