My former Psychology Professor talked to me about it, and he stated yes it does increase aggression, but only a little bit, and only for a short amount of time. So, I would say no. A normal kid is not going to suddenly shoot up a school just because he or she played a violent video game.

Saying that video games cause violence in children is like saying that petting cute animals will cause peace and love in children.

Its true that having a lot of video gaming in your life isn't healthy, it weakens someone's physical fitness, weakens social skills, is generally a huge time waster, and etc. It is too solitary and meaningless to real life. Even so, it is probably not to blame for violence. It is primarily Baby Boomers using it as a scapegoat or excuse to not do any increased regulation or legislation with regards to firearms.

I know this isn't the point of this thread, but lemme just step right in and debunk your claims.

It's not the act of gaming itself, it's the act of not moving that weakens fitness.

Multiplayer. Lots of games have multiplayer, where social interaction is involved.

For your last point: Also, games also do help you navigate in real life (In Fallout 3 I was able to see multiple buildings I had seen in real life, and one guy's tour trip was stranded but the aforementioned guy played an Assassin's Creed game and was able to navigate back to civilization).

I miss being able to swear at games, now my wife and mother-in-law look at me weird every time I do. Good for my blood pressure though.

Ehhh...it depends. The vast majority of games that are based on RL locations are not really accurate. They usually focus on the major landmarks, and the rest of it is filled in with artistic licence. Games that attempt a complete like-for-like facsimile of RL locations are exceptionally rare.

2 M rated games, one of which uses: Fuck, shit, piss, bitch, cunt, asshole, motherfucker, etc... and at least 2 different types of racial slurs at least 7 times per cutscene, and one that is a game based solely on murdering things and why it's good to murder things, has banned cussing for players.

I would say that there is a hypocrisy in this hypocrisy. With the fact that when we meme this to oblivion -and this is mainly done by teens and young adults- we take this piss about all these enlightened 50-60 y/o saying the these things cause violence in children and when I mentioned before that I said there is a hypocrisy in this hypocrisy, what I mean by this is that most of these young people grow up and turn out to be exactly like these big brain adults, and that I think that this is where we are heading to is an perpetual loop of insanity.
