In retrospect, it's hilarious to think there was already a moral panic back in the 90's considering how comparatively primitive games were back then. Imagine showing 90's Mortal Kombat to a kid today, they'd be like "What's with the red pixels, is it broken? That's supposed to be blood?!"

Nowadays you can't even play Grand Theft Auto online without a squeaky voiced 11 year old calling you a faggot and threatening to blow up your grandma's house.

As a fun aside, Rockstar actually paid for negative press for the original GTA game to hype it up.
