But, pray tell, what is the point of these threads? Most everyone is going to agree that Stalin, Mao and Hitler were wretched individuals with a contempt for humanity itself, so why argue about the semantics? Does it prove some sort of point? Does it allow us to weed out those we might consider sympathetic to a parasitic ideology?

What’s worse drowning in a bathtub or in the deep blue sea? At the end of the day it doesn’t matter, your dead either way. We can sit here an crunch numbers all day, but what good would that do? While all three are essentially horrible "people," Hitler was the absolute worst. My reasoning for this is that not only did he persecute Jews, he also persecuted Slavs, Romani (Gypsies), and Homosexuals- to name a few. Had Hitler won WWII, it would've been catastrophic for many people in this world. Possibly a mass amount of genocide of other cultures, mainly because they didn't fit his version of a perfect human being.

Socialism is, according to Marxists, a stepping stone on the path to communism. I don't know the exact specifications, not being a socialist and all.
