Man Arrested For Walking Into Walmart (with weapons)

Postby The Archipelago Territory » Sat Aug 10, 2019 7:05 am

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nat ... 966660001/
Police say Andreychenko went to the Walmart on Republic Road in Springfield, donned body armor and walked inside with a loaded "tactical rifle" and another gun. No shots were fired during the incident Thursday. Andreychenko was arrested after he was stopped by an armed off-duty firefighter, Springfield police said. No one was injured. Andreychenko left the store after a few minutes and was held at gunpoint by an off-duty firefighter until officers arrived moments later, Lt. Mike Lucas, with the Springfield Police Department, said.

So a man walked into Walmart with a loaded but not chambered rifle, body armor, and a handgun which was unloaded and did nothing except push a cart. I understand why this prompted people to run and pull the fire alarm because of the El Paso shootings, but he was doing this in an open carry state, which allowed him to do so, and he didn’t threaten anyone, although he is now being arrested with making a terrorist threat. I can see the prosecutor’s perspectives, but walking into a store with a gun (as long as you’re not threatening anyone) is completely legal. I do think that he should have been detained, but not arrested. What’s your opinion NSG?

In a country with the Second Amendment where politicians are either blaming guns or video games, neither of which cause mass murder, and since nobody is offering up any real solutions to these problems, I don't blame a man to feel like he has to wear body armor and pack a rifle and a handgun while he goes shopping at Walmart.

If I had the money I would too, especially if I had a family.

Definitely don’t I guess now you’re gonna get held up by a firefighter and arrested for being a terrorist

He’s now claiming it was a social experiment

The only crime to have been committed here is the arrest of a man who has plainly broken no law. If he is convicted, it will be a great and terrible victory for the eternally power-hungry apparatus of the state and a crushing blow for the natural human liberty that we all should aspire to exist in.

Just because you're allowed to do a thing doesn't mean it's automatically a good idea.

And the Terroristic Threats offence in the state of Missouri includes implied threats as well as express ones, so he doesn't need to be shouting about how he's going to shoot the place up.

A person commits the offense of making a terrorist threat in the second degree if he or she recklessly disregards the risk of causing the evacuation, quarantine or closure of any portion of a building, inhabitable structure, place of assembly or facility of transportation and knowingly:

(1) Communicates an express or implied threat to cause an incident or condition involving danger to life; or

(2) Communicates a false report of an incident or condition involving danger to life; or

(3) Causes a false belief or fear that an incident has occurred or that a condition exists involving danger to life.

Yes but he wasn’t being dangerous the armed firefighter who was hiding a gun by concealed carrying is much more dangerous. He committed no crime

If he was within the law, which is seems he completely was, then I can't wait to see what kind of money he'll be making from a lawsuit against the city and the cops.

Alright, Missouri Pro-2A supporter here. First off, he was a fucking dumbass from what I can tell. I have a friend down in Springfield who heard through the grapevine that the kid was attempting a "2nd Amendment Audit". This combined with the fire alarm pulling of course made people freak the fuck out. We are a Constitutional Carry state but you really shouldn't fucking open carry long guns into a store in a frontal carry sling. If he had the rifle slung over his shoulder and wasn't wearing body armor, it would make more sense since Walmarts do carry rifles, pistols, shotguns, and ammunition in stock and he could either be bringing it in for inspection or to be returned/etc. Idiots like this still should be allowed to own firearms but Christ do they need a mighty dose of common sense.

I agree. Especially at a time like this where the media is stirring up people all over the place making them afraid of firearms, let alone a peashooter. Should have a little more common sense. But at the same time, it's not his fault somebody pissed their pants over the sight of a gun and pulled the fire alarm.

You're more likely to get shot by a cop than some dude in a Walmart but nobody's pulling fire alarms when they see a blue.

Walking in to a Walmart armed to the teeth as a social experiment less than a week after someone else shot one up? Seems like fairly cut and dry second degree terroristic threats to me.
