Fair enough. I thought they were more widespread than they actually are.
So in about half of states it is usually still automatically illegal if both are below the age of consent (but of course prosecutorial discretions is likely). And about half the states not necessarily so.

(Incidentally, mutual statutory rape is an absurd concept, but totally plausible in roughly half of US states.)

That is best avoided early on. I know the feeling, but few people want a history and politics lecture on the first date.

Today the dating is at a worse condition. I tried it on most dating sites, for example, and almost every time I was bombarded by the prostitution propaganda and by scams of fake promises. Not to forget those who ask for money.
It's incredibly that on such sites women get tens of messages in a day but men rarely receiving messages or even not at all.
Most people are materialistic and expecting lots of things.
Sugar-girls are very common, at every step. Also homosexuals. It's an "explosion" of such people.
If you're looking for serious people, then you should not search on sites and on social medias. Speed-dating is the same ineffective.
Real dates are face-to-face and most rare today.
