You are a young American soldier who volunteered to fight in the war in Vietnam, your friend John Boy also volunteered to fight in the war. After you two had completed training you are shipped to Vietnam in the same unit. After several months of intense fighting in the jungles of Vietnam both you and John Boy have been watching each other's back helping one another while also helping the unit you two are in. However, on one fateful day after your unit was done scouting a area you, John Boy, and the other soldiers in your unit get on a HU-1 "Huey" that will be taking your unit back to the nearest U.S. Camp to rest up until further orders. As you and your unit ride in the helicopter you chat with John Boy and the rest of the unit until you arrive at the camp.
That was until a RPG hit the Helicopter making it crash land into dense jungles far away from U.S. Camps. After the crash landing you looked around to see if anyone was alive and as far as you can you and John Boy are the only survivors of the crash landing. You and John Boy don't know weather North Vietnamese or Viet Cong soldiers shot you down. But the both of you do know, whoever shot you down will be coming to the crash site to find any survivors. So, you think the best course of action is to leave the crash sight on foot and go through the jungle in hopes you will be able to find a U.S. Camp.
Though there is one problem, John Boy can't stand nor walk due to his legs being broken during the crash landing. Seeing the problem you both are now facing, John Boy tells you to: "Leave me behind, I'll only slow you down." When John Boy tells you this you are completely shocked that your long time friend would suggest this and now you must make a choice on what you should do before the enemies start advancing on the crash site.
You have three options.
Option 1: You leave John Boy behind letting him hold off the enemies giving you the chance to escape, but there is a chance John Boy could be killed
Option 2: You decide to pick up and carry John Boy on foot, so both you can make it out alive, but this will cause you to slow down your movements and risk the chance of the enemy catching up to you.
Option 3: You stay with John Boy and try to hold the line until American Forces come to your location hoping the pilot radioed in a mayday before he died.
Option 4: If you don't like the above options tell me what would you do in this secenario, but please try and make it realistic don't try and pull a Rambo.
My Opinion: For me I will choose to do option 3 first and try to hold the line with whatever weapons I have with me until I run out of ammo. And if I reach that point I will pick up John Boy and try to carry him on foot though this plan is likely to fail unless we are able to run into any American or allied forces that will help.
What would you do NSG in this scenario? Leave, help, or stay with your friend?
