I've known of more than a few cases where Vets came back wishing we had done more than just drop two bombs on them. When you begin to research this shit, you start to realize why the Chinese feel the way they do.

The ideology of supremacy, the systematic employment of war rape in Korea, China, Vietnam, and the Philippines, the widespread employment of mass extrajudicial executions, etc. are consistent with many of the terms we set for genocide as a point of international law. The crimes were more than enough to warrant a more robust punishment on members of the government and military - and, honestly, the German government and military should have been punished more severely as well. They only got lenient treatment because we didn't want the Soviets to be able to steam-roll them.

Without a doubt, but it's not meant to be whataboutism. I'll give Hitler credit where credit is due, as for example the man was serious about not using Chemical weapons at all even at the end when the Reich was collapsing; the Japanese were using those from 1942 onward against Chinese civilians.

They were trying hard to develop nuclear weapons, though. I believe that was the reason Einstein left Germany, they wanted his expertise and he refused. Well...that and he was Jewish.

I really try not to hate people, but, when I read about such cruelty or reflect on the cruelties of which I've read, I often find that difficult.
