Can't remember where I saw the stats, so I could be wrong, but IIRC the rate of aids in men who have sex with men didn't start trending downwards until the introduction of a new generation of HIV medications, well after condoms became widespread.

Well, considering the approximately 2 decade delay between lead emissions changes and changes in crime rates, its no surprise that crime began rising after the largest conflict in human history. And things like Tetraethyllead only began to be added to gas in the 20s. While car ownership did drastically increase in that decade, the 30s were also known for being a time of economic hardship (which would reduce gas usage). So its no surprise that the 50s and before would have relatively lower crime rates.

Based on the trend, and the fact that additives like TEL are banned, we can continue to expect to see a general decline in crime rates, barring the influence of other significant factors.

Like I said, better sex ed is necessary. When I went to high school (less than 10 years ago, and in a public school no less), we got no sex ed other than some scare tactics from an anti-abortion group about abstinence only. And we all dismissed it as bullshit because it was so utterly biased. And none of them said anything about sex ed as it concerns LGBT+ people.

If you want to improve STI rates for everyone, start pushing for better, comprehensive sex ed that addresses sex for everyone.
