I don't buy this idea that the treaty was unfair on Germany. Germany dragged France, Belgium and Britain into the war, and German troops marched through foreign streets while exploiting Franco-Belgian industry. Germany's industrial base was relatively untouched by the war, not so for France. When there's vigorous debate on Versailles among historians, you cannot say unilaterally that it was unfair.

Both Germany and France chose to honor their alliances, damning the consequences. Germany cannot be blamed for France entering the war, although they are to blame for involving neutral Belgium.
Regardless, the treaty was unfair because it attempted to foist the economic and moral consequences of the war onto a nation which was already in dire straits, economically and politically. British and American revision was justified because it sought to prevent the treaty from causing further destruction to both Germany and France.

I'll concede that, nevertheless, France succeeded where Germany failed, even though the financial burden was larger (23% to 2.5% of GDP).

The circumstances that France found itself in and that Weimar Germany found itself do not correlate, except perhaps superficially. France was territorially intact and in possession of a vast colonial empire, providing a vast amount of resources with which to rebuild its economy. Its industries were also largely untouched and actually grew substantially in the immediate aftermath of the war, in contrast to Germany's (which while intact, were significantly hampered by Germany's post-war economic situation). France politically was also not nearly as divided as Weimar Germany was, and its recovery was aided by a unified public.
The two situations are really not comparable.

The point still stands. Whether or not it was politically convenient to pay reparations, Germany had an obligation to pay, and no amount of catastrophising can avert that. Again, this is made abundantly clear with the benefit of hindsight. Germany didn't pay (much) and it still ended up in the toilet.

I think we're fundamentally opposed as to whether or not obligations should be met without regard for pragmaticism.

My greatest bugbear is how arrogant they can be, Reploid especially gets on my nerves as she specifically made an OC for the purpose of banning people, that is the very definition of hubris. It's not even a good design, looks like it was ripped straight out of a PS1 FMV.

France refused to mobilize along with Russia, and Britain guaranteed French neutrality in a telegram to Kaiser Wilhelm, who accepted their proposal for an Eastern War. Kaiser Willy tried to order Moltke to strike Russia alone, but Moltke convinced that the two-front plan had to go on for technical reasons. While there's room for hypothesising whether France and the UK would have entered the war later, the fact remains, it was absolutely Germany's fault for France entering the war.

Agree to disagree, although I take special exception to your claim that the treaty was destroying France. Quite the opposite, the Ruhr occupation was returning a moderate profit, and as I've explained earlier, French steel production was impaired for the rest of the interwar. Even if we accept that the revisions were justified, Germany still underpaid, even when it was much more economically stable. The truth is, the lack of enforcement doomed Versailles. If it were more enforced, I believe war could have been averted. Alas, Europe gave the Hun a chance and paid for it, many times over.
