I just thought of an interesting idea. Essentially, subtly goad the PRC into firing what few nukes they have that are capable of reaching the United States at us, which would give us a legitimate causus belli to retaliate and annex them. I dunno though, I thought of it while doing the dishes, so it might not be the most well-thought out plan. But the basic gist of it is that we'd sacrifice, say, San Francisco and a few other cities on the West Coast to the PRC's atomic hellfires, in order to legitimize a war of conquest and annexation. Hell, if we play our cards right, we could convince the rest of our allies to join us in the war. But what do y'all think about my half-baked crackpot scheme?

What a deeply disturbing idea. Not only ridiculous in practice, but also horrifying at the thought of a government deliberately attempting to sacrifice millions of its own citizens just to wage an imperialist war abroad.

Is there some sort of "Imperialist Discussion Thread" for all these jingoist fantasies? I fail to see what any of this fantasizing has to do with right wing discussion...

I mean... yeah. That was kind of the point of said post.

I was cleaning the dishes, when I thought to myself "I wonder what'd happen if the United States was nuked by the PRC, but didn't nuke back? And more importantly, why would that be the case?" and when I was done with the dishes I returned to my laptop and wrote that post. I admit that it's disturbing, maybe even horrifying. 'Twas a neat thought experiment, though.
