I disagree.

I used to be somewhat of a moderate social conservative, then a socialist in my younger years, but as I got more educated, I mellowed out and developed what I consider a moderate yet very progressive worldview.

Often you see similar things occur to other would-be extremists.

It may not destroy extremism altogether but the classes combined will make it harder for them to gain a leading voice.

I think most of us had some kind of ideological ride included.

But what stops us from falling to extremism is, ideally, having fundamental principles of what is right and wrong.

Usually extremism comes with his own twisted principles in those regards. If we do not have a solid foundations, we can get overtaken by those ideologies regardless if we carry alot of abstract wiki knowledge with us. For it cannot replace wisdom and foundations.

I believe in this specific case its that people in general (regardless of religion) need to learn to let other people be, and that doing so is a necessarity in everyones interest.
