Not really, considering that was the primary divide at the time, and was mostly along geographical east and west. Unless you somehow think that China and Europe was the great east-west divide. Sure there were obviously plenty of internal divisions in Europe but that really doesn't mean that animosity towards Islam and Europe was only started by the Crusades. The Crusades just further inflamed animosity that had existed for centuries.

Context for those statistics should include blacks are much more likely to be arrested and convicted than whites with similar evidence, and American Hispanic age demographics are much younger than American whites. But overall really good post, thanks for contributing.

Thanks and while black Americans are more likely to be convicted than whites for crimes (as are hispanics), you can visually see in this country that the average black or brown neighborhood is more dangerous than your average white neighborhood. When you control for poverty though, race doesn't tend to play a role in crime and poverty is more of a determining factor

It's also worth pointing out that men are disproportionately charged and convicted of crimes and receive sentences that are longer than women usually receive for the same crime.
