This just kinda proves Jean-Paul Sartre's point that Islam and the West aren't compatible.

His point what that Islam "can't play nice with the West". Rather I would say the reverse is true.

The thing I find weird about all this is that once upon a time, people in Italy during Roman days would find they had more in common with Phoenicians than with like Germans and celts, but nowadays Italians and Germans and celtic folks are on the same side of the west-east division that didn't exist in pre Islamic days

Then maybe you should withdraw your soldiers from the Middle East.

I hope no one in the general populace still disagrees with this sentiment cause I'm ready to close every military base outside America and bring the troops home

The Crusades largely established that. In reality Spain under Muslim rule was very much a part of western civilization, the "courtly love" of chivalrous romance came from The Ring of the Dove, a work by Ibn Hazm.

Yes, entirely and solely as a response to Western presence in the Middle East.

I don't believe Muslims can't live in the West because I live in a place with a large amount of muslims, and our issues have nothing to do with their religion, but instead relate to the usual poverty and crime that plagues the rust belt. The issue happens when people try to force their beliefs down other people's throats

As I have said before, the reason Muslims can come into the UK so much is because the British Empire incorporated Muslim countries into the Commonwealth. Hence immigration from countries like Pakistan and Malaysia to the UK is relatively easy.

Tbh mumtahanah is right about this part. Europe in general was a war zone in the dark ages and Europeans spent most of their time killing each other. The crusades was really the first time in a while that Europe and United against a common enemy and even then, by the later crusades they took up looting Constantinople which was a European city

Honestly a lot of the animosity really took off after 2001. If you said you were Arab American in 1970, people would say "oh...well I'm irish." You say that now and it could hurt people's feelings plus it might get you killed. Attitudes changed a lot after 9/11
