I can think of many reasons to give an enemy technical information. Unfortunately, I can think of no reason to do so with a piece of mechanical or metallurgical engineering, as opposed to software or electronic engineering.
Of course, that was now 70 years ago.

Eh, they have changed a lot. Admittedly that part still annoys us to no end, but you cannot hold something against them forever.
They learned some when it was British pilots getting killed by Attlee being a dumbass.
Plus they gave us the tech for the Harrier.

As well as air borne radar, the Frisch–Peierls memorandum, Whittle's jet engine, etc.
