The UK seems intent on throwing away its status a world power with choosing Brexit and Boris Johnson.

Thinking the UK is still a world power is itself an example of "if we focus on feelings we tend to igrone the hard truths".

Without the rest of the UK holding us down, Northumbria will be able to become a great power once more.

Out (of the UK) – and into the world!

Well yea, to be honest any likely armed nation is a "world power" we also in top 10 global economy's... it means we may not be a super power like USA but still a major player even if it's only a minor one compared to USA. And I am of course compromised in my belief because I'm a British therefore i will look things in a brighter light yet you cant deny Britain still is a power... not greatest but up there

Breaching a rule against calling the President a racist or describing any statment made by the President as racist.

Which was instituted by the GOP. Just over a month after Trump took the nomination.

:thonking:

Pelosi should be censured for not moving her lazy ass off Speaker's chair to do one goddamn meaningful thing. Pass a resolution telling everyone what we already know, that Trump is a fucking asshole. Meanwhile Pelosi gives Republicans everything they want because Mike Pence promised to keep her updated on how many kids die in CBP concentration camps.

Republicans should be giving Pelosi a medal for excellence in collaboration.

To be fair, the resolution bit wasn't actually a terrible idea, because now republicans had to basically officially, on the record, state that they don't consider "Go back to your own country" as racist.
It's a stick to beat them with, if anything.

She's still terrible, but she played that well.

But will it work? It seems a good 40% of America just doesn't care, although it is something that Republicans are going to have to explain (especially moderate Democrats in so-called Red areas). In the end, both sides will use the issue for hopes of high-turnout.

Probably not, but you might as well have it handy, in case it does.
There's no such thing as too much ammo.

It's not the first time Trump has accused a person-of-color politician of being a foreigner (see: Obama).

But speaking of Obama, I seem to recall Trump being highly critical of his predecessor's regime. In fact, Trump's whole campaign was premised on "making America great again." Perhaps Trump should practice what he preaches and return to the orange-skinned tribe from whence he came if he thinks that this oh-so-glorious country needs change.

You got Ben Carson who was born into poverty and now supports programs which hurt the communities he came from, and you got Donald Trump, who has slashed taxes on Willy Wonka and turned a blind eye to his hiring of poor Bulgarian and Oompa Loompian undocumented immigrants. Shameful.

No, I literally did not. Try again after practicing reading comprehension.

Texans are illegal immigrants, friend.

Aside from that, it's great to see the Republican Party getting back to their Know Nothing roots.

And how are we defining "real Americans" today?

"whose ancestors founded, settled, fought for and built this country"
The longer you're family has been here and the more they've contributed to this country determines their legitimacy of claiming to be American.

So you like him for his xenophobia and trollish behavior.

Are you trying to imply those are bad qualities? I really don't see how it's so offensive to want to care for your own countrymen and family members before foreigners.

Isn't that obvious? White, Christian Republicans are clearly the only real Americans.

I did. There's a picture of them next to the dictionary entry for "Uncle Tom."

Members of minorities are individuals who can have their own opinions. They aren't the property of any political persuasion. Calling someone an "Uncle Tom" because their opinions don't match what you think of as acceptable for their race is actually pretty racist. The vast majority of Republicans are not racist - in fact, most are anti-racist. Literally the only people in the US going around defining people entirely by their race are the people who are openly racist on the far right and people on the far left who have white savior complex. That's what? 5% of the population? At most? And the only reason there are that many people is because the far left is on a witch hunt for racists, and is trying to make racism the central issue. Most of us simply don't care about race, because it doesn't matter. The average person doesn't like being called a racist for stuff they 1) didn't do, and 2) don't think. It's annoying and childish, and the far left really needs to stop it and go after the actual racists, because that is something at least 90% of the country (including Trump) can agree on.
