I remember there was a bunch of us heaping disdain onto the various things that were being proposed by him. Don't think you were there however.

Looking through my post history it seems i only interacted with him once, where we argued about game shows for a few posts. So i missed quite a lot it seems.

I miss Cantelo, who CTE'd quite recently if I remember correctly - if I had to guess she had RL commitments as a college student.

She was honestly one of my favorite F7ites, as her nation wasn't super out there - it read like an actual modern-day nation in Europe. She put lots of effort into it too - heavy graphic design in her factbooks, and her in-universe political parties were particularly memorable. She included most of the political spectrum and gave them actually relevant ambitions, ideology and background, rather than just having a faceless opposing biparty system, or even worse, a uniparty aligned to her own political ideals.

I would consede defeat on the matter if all clinics needed to play on loop babies crying while people ask wait and perform abortions. Hey maybe people should set up huge stereos outside clinics of crying babies and babies saying mommy.

I was just told that today.

I'm a millennial. The guy who said it was almost exactly the same age as me. I called him a "snowflake" and ascribed back to him a whole bunch of negative stereotypes of our generation. He didn't catch on and again just repeated, "okay, boomer."

Well, as I have said, he's been trolling heavily with animated GIFs, so even though he's not favourable, he can surely be memorable, I guess.

I think you are right about that, I think the logic against it was they could just make another account. I would think at least that would slow them down

Iirc, there are forums that don’t allow newly created accounts to make threads until a certain amount of time has passed. I’ve seen 24-48 hours set as wait time before a new user can post to the forum.

Ultimately I'm sure lovely friendships have been made here, people actually met in NSG meet ups in London and SF but my feeling has always been believe nothing and just post your views - that why I'm entirely fine with the idea some people are presenting idealised versions of themselves, some are posting truth but, whatever, you're viewing opinions either way.

I'm not sure that would help much, trolls and spammers would quickly learn that they can make a few nations and keep them on the shelf. Meanwhile new users of good intent would just have to wait for no reason.

NS years ago had the first 5 (or was it 10?) posts vetted by mods. There would be delay then when a mod had looked it over it would appear. But I can see that mods probably don't want that extra work.




But perhaps one or both of those could be implemented, with a "jump the queue" clause allowing existing users to recommend/endorse a new user. As I'm sure a lot of new users didn't just blow in from Google but had the site recommended to them by an existing user.
