NHS is cheaper and heavily reliable. Every country in the world bar the US, some African, and some South East Asian countries has a universal healthcare system.
It is more affordable per person and more reliable.

Not everyone is rich, or has an offshore bank account to evade taxes.

I actually have great insurance and live by a hospital, but they won't take check ups under insurance for some reason.

More efficient furnaces and turbines can allow for the same electricity generation from less coal and with fewer particulate emissions due to more complete combustion, although increased demand tends to mitigate any benefits this brings about. (This is Jevon's paradox)

That doesn't mean that shifting in the future somehow magically balances out emissions today.
