It's because the reaction is so over the top. I think only 3 or 4 sitting days are actually being lost but people are reacting like the end of the world. Everybody has turned into Henny Penny and yes that is hilariously funny because nobody has their feet planted in reality anymore.

Johnson wants to suspend Parliament until the 14th of October, not for a long weekend.

I thought you knew more about the political calendar than this. They recess for conference season about a week after this 10th September date. It's a handful of days lost.

Oh, come on. You know full well that at a time like this, with opposition parties and government rebels all having to work together against an already tight deadline, a few days could make an enormous difference.

They have had 3 years and a session of 12 or 16 votes last March that concluded that they could not agree anything. There is no evidence they could work together and plenty of evidence they can't.

Why would Parliament go on another recess with so little time left before the Brexit deadline? Bloody stupid.

This attempt to suspend Parliament is bringing people closer to voting to bring down Johnson's government.

They have been on holiday this summer for what 6 weeks or so? There has been plenty of time to recall Parliment if they really wanted.

So having just had a recess there is clearly no need for another one so soon.

Clearly Boris feels the need. He feels the need so hard.

Boris' decision to suspend parliament has now thoroughly convinced me that he just wants there to be as much chaos and violence as possible and that he is only doing this for fun. No one in their right mind would intentionally try to push for a no deal brexit, knowing the effects it could have on the social scene in northern ireland, the UK economy and British trust in government

And then one day you look in the mirror and you realize that you ain't you anymore. You're just another monster, and thanks to your actions, someone else will eventually become as warped and twisted as you. Never forget that the best of us are just the best of a bad lot. Being at the top of a pile of feces doesn't make you anything but shit like the rest. Never forget that.
