Things are getting heated in the protests

Nationwide protests by parents against new relationships and sex-education lessons are planned for September, and head teachers across England are bracing themselves for angry scenes. About 70 state schools are pleading for help to deal with demands from parents that they drop the lessons, which include information about LGBT sex and relationships.

On Friday, 350 children were withdrawn from Parkfield Primary School in Birmingham because teachers have refused to stop using picture books to teach young children that same-sex relationships are normal. Demonstrations outside nearby Anderton Park Primary School have been banned by the High Court after ugly scenes upset children and teachers.

Makes about as much sense as letting kids decide that if they don't wanna eat then they shouldn't have to.

I'm perpetually amused by religious types who are so weak in their own faith that they can't stand kids being told that gay people exist and they are people too.

God forbid the kids actually discovering that homosexuals are just normal people and stop hating them for made up reasons dictated by mullahs thousands of years ago. <.>

The same people who sneer now also will clutch their pearls if anybody suggests fewer of them should come to Britain in the first place. Curious.

That the people who want looser immigration controls are the same people who want greater LGBT exceptance, and act surprised when one group they have championed act against the interest of another.

That pious homophobes are being let in due to their plight does not mean that they are right and will thus be treated as golden cows, effectively beyond criticism.

Thus it is to affirm their humanity both ways -- by saving them from lives of desperation and desolation, yet criticizing them for their more dubious choices, and if need be using the state to restrain and punish them should they think blows are their way out.

I don't know if this has been brought up before but Boris Johnson had a fish in his hand while speaking at the conservative party conference; this is the guy that's most likely going to be Prime Minister, god help us.

I think that article is perfectly summarising my views on this.

Stage 1: Er.... what?

Stage 2: Wait, why are we giving the premiership to a man who waves fish around in front of crowds

Stage 3: Wait- Isle of Mann?! This angry fish smoker doesn't even live in the EU!

Stage 4: Hang on, did he just say he was going to bring the kippers back? As in, UKIPpers? Why the heck would even want such people influencing your party?

Stage 5: Oh for God's sake, now the crowd is clapping.

Stage 6: We're doomed. We're truly, completely, utterly doomed.

If you're under fire in the no-man's land of WW1, you start digging a foxhole even if the ideal time would be when you *aren't* being bombarded, because once you wait for it to be 'time', other situations will need your attention, assuming you survive that long. Absolutely true, honestly this is making me more depressed than I already am but that's what politics does I suppose. Oh and I do think he means the actual fish, Boris probably believes they're on the verge of extinction ever since we've been in the EU.

And he'll most likely be our next prime minister. Although I absolutely despise Jeremy Hunt, I think he's a sleazy slimeball who would sell out our NHS in a second, he's definitely the better option in only that he's competent, Boris on the other hand...

Nah, screw both of them. I want a general election after this sorry shitshow. Jeremy Corbyn is 100% guaranteed to handle things better than this pathetic government has.
