Yeah, so? The problem is they put her in a prison of a different gender, while islam prohibits that according to you.

Yes, actually, Egypt's recognition is required, it is their country, after all. Large scale protests in unstable countries are dangerous, and democracy is unworkable in Egypt.

Dictatorships are dangerous.

And no, Egypt’s recognition of a right is not required in order for it to be a right.

Yes it is, rights are given to you by the government, they are legal constructs.

You're welcome to institute democracy and then watch the radicals who make up most of the population take power.

Indeed. It's quite the irony. Almost as if they feel like they need to prove themself for being sufficiently islamic.

Its quite daring if not outright dangerous and life-threatingly stupid to do anything remotely close to political activism in Egypt those days.

I wouldn't say it's a lost cause. While not ideal, the current government is certainly better than the alternative of having Egypt be led by politicians affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood.

Oh really? Where is your evidence for this? From what I have seen he has been fairly run of the mill as Arab dictators go/has been fairly anti fundamentalist especially given how he has targeted muslim extremist groups both at home and in the near abroad. He's certainly less of a fundamentalist than his predecessor was.

Oh and as for the man being jailed. It's regrettable that he's in prison, but hopefully he'll end up being released later down the line.
