i think some people will at least try this once. Maybe they had some kind of relation somebody the murderer killed. Maybe they come for the experience. Maybe they went so they could see this awful person suffer. Maybe for the shock value. Maybe for the dimensional gift shop. So I'd say a quarter of people would go. As for me, I don't have the cash.

Because it’s a hypothetical scenario that is closer to our emotional feelings. We can sense if we want to do this to another person, who did to us something bad. Hell is vague and has different concepts.

Since when was Jahannam vague?

Since the time it was ever thought of. There are many concepts of hell. Some believe that you go to hell for eternal suffering, burning in fire, and others believe you’re just stuck there forever in eternal discomfort, not necessarily dying.

Also, the point of this scenario was to see from different perspectives how many people would we think go and give to this murderer a taste of his/her own medicine, or how many would prefer to waste money on such an act. Talking about hell would be asking people if they believed in it, or think what it looks like, which is completely different from what we’re supposed to be discussing.

It is my understanding that Christianity is one of those ideologies that says "The government/big guy is evil so we can be good." They don't murder, torture and send people to an eternity of suffering. God does that. Big difference. It's sort of like living under an evil dictatorship. If you worship the dear leader and do exactly as he says he will reward you by NOT throwing you into a lake of fire for all eternity. What a swell guy.

The people who are struggling to make ends meet may be the ones with the MOST ANGER to vent. They might scrap the money together and do it at all cost.

Well, taking into account that 70% of the world -- as Bombadil said -- earn less than $10 a day, and won't save, forgoing food and shelter in the process, for this kind of nonsense, there are very few people I can see actively seeking out chances to torture someone.

While people can behave cruelly in given circumstances (the whole "banality of evil" thing, and the point of the Milgram test -- although many participants showed reluctance, and attempts to repeat the test have shown poor replicability), I really doubt many people would deliberately seek opportunities to torture a human being.

I'd say only a few percent. Not even 10%; probably less than 5%. (taking into account both lack of affordability and that I don't see many people actively seeking out a human being to physically torture)

I hear that many of those who are poor spend a disproportionate amount of income (often unwise amounts) on alcohol, drugs, or cigarettes. And those things are not cheap.

Perhaps they'd see it fit to skip out on a bottle or two in exchange for an experience like this? A lot of them have a lot of hatred towards the system and their overlords. Here's a convenient person to take it out on...
