Title of the thread is misleading. These are illegal immigrants and I find it sick that California and even the federal government is bending over backwards for these criminals when all other developed countries enforce their immigration laws. My dad (who is Ethiopian) worked so hard to come to this country legally and you have these criminals that aren't supposed to be here get a free ride. Huge slap in the face to legal immigrants and real Americans. Seriously, everyone on my dad's side is pissed at these criminals.

I dunno man, a good friend of mine lives in Saskatchewan and he regularly rails on the Canadian healthcare system. Sure it might be free but yikes those wait times. Good luck getting in before you die lol.

Actually, that depends on what you’re going for.

I didn't mean for it to be misleading I was going to add illegal, I just didn't have enough room for the title.

Seriously people, there’s already a program for citizens. Stop complaining about “illegals getting a free ride.”

Yikes and I guess the wait time would be way worst in the United States?

Not even. I've regularly been getting in way more than him actually. In the time it took him to go get a scan for his leg I met with my doctor, got some stuff prescribed, came back for a follow up and then saw a specialist before he got in for his visit. It was kinda sad actually.

HSA’s suck
I think if you want a better system, do what Texas does with Gold Card, which is quite surprising considering how their view towards similar programs are. All you have to do is if you don't have insurance, you can go to a hospital and an apply, and you can use it even for GPs.

This is Medi-Cal but in Texas.

Your link did go to a material regarding HSAs, and for question on States Rights:
Article 4, Section 2, Paragraph 1:
The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States.

You could always demand universal healthcare for everyone, including "legal migrants" and citizens ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also, undocumented immigrants tend to be hard workers too (and pay taxes), so it's not much of a "free ride".

Of course. Which makes it even more sick that they these criminals get benefits before legal immigrants and citizens.

Perhaps because Canada has a priority list, and thus things of low urgency don’t get priority.

He described it as barely being able to walk so I imagine it would be fairly urgent but idk how the Canadian system works entirely so you could be right.

That is the case, but that the fact that California has so many other problems for the residents currently that have been going on for years like the drought, is what we are upset about.

It’s mildly infuriating, that’s like the 3rd time I’ve said that, and I’ve yet to get a response.

Oh yeah, without a doubt. Americans are horrifically unhealthy after all.

Yes. Because everyone would be covered. That'd dump like 32 million extra people into the system.

Yeah, I don’t know enough either, at least about his particular case. I’m also not entirely sure about where anything goes on the priority scale, so…

Clearly, the drought is California’s fault. Oh, wait, no, it ended.

I didn't mean for it to be misleading I was going to add illegal, I just didn't have enough room for the title.

I swear, my family and I are sick and tired of honest, hard working people like my dad, his sister, and brother being put in the same boat as these criminals. There is a difference between a legal immigrant and an illegal immigrant. And I know quite a few other legal immigrants that are sick and tired of liberals putting in them in the same category as the criminals. It's like a huge slap in the face for them.

You’re going to be surprised when you learn that illegals work hard too.

We do know that illegals work hard, but what we are worried about is the ones who don't. You are niaeve if you think that there no illegal immigrants whom have come to be dependant on the government, when we institute these programs.

Doesn't change the fact they are not supposed to be here and cause a lot of problems which only make things harder for legal immigrants who keep being put in the same boat as this criminals by the liberals. And these criminals are lazy. My dad, his sister, and brother were all born in rural Ethiopia in a place that didn't even have electricity or anything. But they worked hard and rose up the socio-economic ladder, got an education, and were eventually able to legally immigrate to the United States. If they can do it, anyone can. These criminals are just lazy and want a free ride.

Last I checked, most illegals are from countries more developed than Ethiopia (especially rural Ethiopia).

We can’t do universal healthcare in one state, ‘cause then you’d see everyone else try to flood it. You’d have to deal that on the National level.

Which is what I was talking about
