Wearing Baseball Caps Backwards

Postby San Lumen » Mon Jul 08, 2019 7:54 pm

I thought we could take some time out from out hot topic issues and world news and discuss something more light hearted.

Often times I have seen teens and young adults wear baseball caps backwards and to be honest I like the look. I in fact usually wear my baseball cap backwards. I think it looks better on me that way and wearing it forward looks dumb. There are also some hats that have large brims and are designed to be worn backwards.

There is misconception that the look comes from gangs. The style in fact comes from baseball, in order for the catcher to fit their mask on they have turn their hat backwards.

What's your take NSG? Do you wear your baseball cap backwards and do you like the look?

I usually don't wear those to begin with. When I do, I wear them forward because the purpose of the brim is to keep the sun out of your eyes and last I checked, I do not have eyes on the back of my head.

There is a maximum age beyond which the backwards baseball cap does not look cute or attractive on young men. That age is 18 months.

They obviously have more sense than their older brothers, cousins, what have you. I've noticed also that in young couples the woman dresses up to go out and her date often looks like ... a schlub. Kids today.

What exactly is wrong with wearing your baseball cap backwards?

I don't wear baseball caps, or at least I try not to. They aren't good for sun protection. A broad-brimmed hat is much better.

Nine times out of ten it makes one look silly. *shrug* My opinion, you are entitled to your own.

I wear a baseball cap basically all day every day. Almost always front-wards, unless there's a reason to turn it backwards, like wearing a helmet, or a face shield or something at work.

Pretty much the only time I am out and not wearing a baseball cap is when I'm wearing a more formal hat.

Somehow that reminded me of what Obama told Jimmy Fallon about the phone the Secret Service gave him: "For security reasons -- this is a great phone, state-of-the-art -- but it doesn't take pictures, you can't text, the phone doesn't work, you can't play your music on it."

"Silly" is absolutely the most polite word you could have possibly chosen and still be semi-accurate.
