He isn't, really. Just about 30% of Canadians who will hate any liberal, just like the 30% who hate all Conservatives, the 10% who hate both and support the NDP, and everyone else in between.

Specific things that have brought down his popularity would be: his support for carbon pricing (a carbon tax, not popular with the west), his youth-oriented social justice policy (kind of alienating people who think he takes it too far), some of the things he says and does (you'll get an earful from Conservatives about his trip to India, while no one else cares about it), and some of the shady stuff a few of his caucus members have been caught up in. Like Morneau's French villa or Harjit Sajjan's role in Afghanistan. Personally, I don't think any of this really means any real trouble for him. The economy is doing well and the country is better off than it was four years ago.

Trudeau is just barely passable. His good doesn't outweigh his bad, and vice versa.

People see him as weak because he's got this nice-guy hug-it-out image. It's exactly why he got elected (we had ten years of the conservatives being rude, incredibly petty assholes and we were sick of it) but it seems like it might be his downfall. To be fair, Jagmeet Singh, although a lovely guy (I've met him, he's great) has proven himself to be either incompetent or has an incompetent team and that doesn't reflect well, and Andrew Scheer comes off as an incredibly unintelligent man (he's probably not but he looks that way), so I think Trudeau's got a good shot at winning at least a minority government. Usually it's toxic males don't like him.

That being said, there are many reasonable criticisms of Trudeau from the left and right, and I often criticize him from the left, although I do work in his government. I just think he's the best choice.

I never liked Trudeau from the get-go he just seemed like the type of guy who the people would vote for because of his name, being the son of Pierre Trudeau one of the most well known and beloved PM's Canada has produced. His administration has not been all that, my biggest issues with him being carbon taxing, the buyout of a Canadian oil pipeline potentially costing hundreds of jobs in Alberta, his millennial SJW attitude being cringe-worthy as Hell, his inept ability to eliminate the deficit and balance the budget in a short time like he promised keeping Canada in the red for the next decade or two, and most importantly the nail in the coffin is him going back on his word that 2015 would be the last year with FPTP electoral system.

Biden and Trump are traitors to America.

Also the fact that many young voters voted for him simply because he promised to legalize weed, and he dilly-daddled big time on that promise before actually fulfilling it.

I have some big problems with Trudeau, especially concerning his pushing of pipelines through Indigenous lands. The PCs would be worse though. I have not made up my mind whether to go with NDP or Liberals, it will depend on who's more likely to beat the PCs in my riding.

While I find Trudeau to be disappointingly centrist and/or neoliberal on several issues, I still hope he stays in power. He's kind of like Canada's Barack Obama - not nearly as good as he has the potential to be, but much better than the alternative.

Are you really claiming that airhead silver spoon stuffed suit (who only got elected because of his daddy) is really the best person in all of Canada? There are plenty of other options, better ones, even in his own party in parliament I am sure.

Canada is a parliamentary system anyways, you do not vote for prime minister.
His own party could pick someone else to represent them.

Even though I’m not Canadian, I keep myself up to date from across the Atlantic with what’s going on.

Personally, I feel like Trudeau made many promises and then failed to deliver - ranging from deficit spending to electoral reform. I think my ideal scenario would be a Hung Parliament and a LIB-NDP Coalition or C&S Agreement would keep the Liberals honest.

Coalition Governments don't really happen here like in Britain, and although it's theoretically possible, it only ever happened on a national scale during the first world war (although it's happened a few times on the provincial level). What's more likely is a Lib minority where they try to appease the NDP or Conservatives with individual bills. The cabinet would still be all Liberal, but whichever party could push them over the 50% line would have them kissing their feet.

Why? Because of his name and hair?
Which are the only reasons he is in office.

Certainly not because of his (lack of) intellect or (lack of) ability to get much done.
