Something is always there. It would be more horrifying if you opened your eyes to a yawning abyss of absolute nothing. A void of bleakest blackness from whence nothing came, not sound, nor light, nor warmth, nor any sensation beyond total absence. The very precipice of annihilation and unreality.
But I guess spiders and things are scary too.

Gotta have a little bit of darkness within you just to survive. You gotta stoop low everyday it seems like. Stoop all the way down to the devil in these times. And then one day you look in the mirror and you realize that you ain't you anymore. You're just another monster, and thanks to your actions, someone else will eventually become as warped and twisted as you. Never forget that the best of us are just the best of a bad lot. Being at the top of a pile of feces doesn't make you anything but shit like the rest. Never forget that.

The dripping stopped after ten minutes.
Then it never leaked again.
Air con is fine ever since and I don’t know why for that one time for ten minutes water dropped out.
It’s made me a bit nervous about sleeping in the complete dark since.

Ghost Land wrote:I was literally never afraid of the dark until I was eight, almost nine years old and in fourth grade when I saw a ghost show on TV. Ever since then, sometimes I worry about something or someone unexpected sneaking up on me in a dark room, especially back when I was still devoutly religious and worried Satan could come up and snatch me at any moment. Just thinking about that even now gives me the heebie-jeebies.
I think I've always been afraid of being on small or unstable platforms or at extreme heights, though; when I climb a huge lookout tower the fear is typically subdued, but if it were to jiggle in any way, I'd probably see my life flash before my own eyes.
