I use to have a nightlight as a kid, but as I grew up I switched to a lamp with better brightness. And yes I am afraid of the dark since something might be lurking in the dark. As of recently I been having my dog sleep on my bed giving me x2 protection and safety.

One night for absolutely no reason, I woke up in the dark and some very cold water was dripping out of the air con in intervals.

The dripping stopped after ten minutes.

Then it never leaked again.

Air con is fine ever since and I don’t know why for that one time for ten minutes water dropped out.

Its natural for humans to be afraid of the dark. As a species, we cannot see without good light, so our animalistic fear sets in when we cannot see. That's the reason we have lights for when it is dark.

Though TBH OP, I do the same thing. Primarily because we've got some big fucking roaches in the basement and I've stepped on one of em barefoot... not something I ever want to repeat. That combined with our house having brown recluse spiders... and well yeah, I run like my ass is on fire up the steps out of the basement once I flip the lights off.

Interestingly enough, I more or less have an obsession with the supernatural. I read about this stuff and research it non-stop. Great fun, really. And I do believe in a lot of it.
