I am the leader of a relatively new nation, Nrutasica (yes, Saturn backwards + "ica". Hence the flag) and part of a lesser known part of the LGBT+ community: Asexuality. Since it is pride month, I wanted to discuss the lesser talked about members such as Aromatics, Asexuals, gender queers, pansexuals and such. There are many misconceptions regarding these specific terms. When I came out to a friend, for example, she told me that no, I haven't tried it yet so I wouldn't know. Asexuality is an attraction, not an an action. Another told me that's impossible since I have had crushes. Well, asexual and aromantic are different things. I, for instance, am a biromantic asexual. Also, I have friends who are pansexual. They have told me that people thought that pansexuals could fall in love with objects, which is not the case. And I, for example, don't understand gender queer. I just know it exists. The fact that this is happening in 2019 is quite troubling. Therefore, I believe that these aspects of the LGBT+ should be discussed more in schools, for instance, rather than bullying or smoking. I'm interested in seeing who agrees and disagrees and why. Let the debate begin

Might have something to do with our just being friends.
I don’t consider it particularly novel.

I really do think that one doesn't have to eschew other topics; these can all be addressed or discussed.
Ideally, when discussing sexuality, we ought to present every group (e.g. lesbian, gay, straight, bisexual, transgender, etc.).

I was the same way for years then I got a girlfriend pretty much on accident so all I can say is keep living life and if upon the way you start getting feeling for someone and they start getting feeling for you, go for it.

Right, and do so as objectively as possible, i.e. without presenting any one sexual orientation as better or worse than the others.
Also, OP, as there are several different types of crushes, could you describe in more detail what you've had?

I felt that pain. I read the post and felt my entire body wince in agonizing pain and suffering. Press F
I have a friend actually who (thought he) had a girlfriend and literally never kissed her or...yeah. Anyways, it turned out she just thought he was her friend and didn't realize he wasn't joking when he said she was his girlfriend. I asked him if he would ever have sex with her and he would get so disgusted like "I DON'T WANNA HAVE SEX!" bruh, she's your girlfriend ( or supposedly was). That's kind of what you're supposed to do at some point. Anyways I can't imagine being with an attractive girl who I'm super close with and just being like "nah" when I think about sex

I've liked people based on personality and looks, I guess. Never had sexual feelings towards anyone and find the whole concept of sex kinda boring and pointless, tbh (disregarding reproduction). Sexual attraction just doesn't exist for me, which doesn't mean I don't think it's real. I know it's real, just not in my head.
