It should be, ideally. But mens lack of agency (enforced on a social level) here means they spend little time thinking about it and are encouraged to just surrender to women on the matter since if they have sex, they must accept a pregnancy if it occurs and the woman wants it. Their opinion is more of a suggestion and for the most part if the woman says she wants it, men are just going to resign themselves to that.

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

The snip being permanent kind of means it's the same kind of lack of agency thing. You get one decision maximum rather than an ongoing process.

Rapists don't tend to be reasonable.

I am sure rapists are a fairly small potential market for the jell.

This is for people in long term relationships. I have seen relationships where one partner wants a kid NOW!, and the other doesnt and this will give the man more control over his situation.

I do get that. Which is why I’ve always thought that reproductive rights and family planning is something both men and women should engage on. And have. Which also why I would think that if you want to have kid, you should talk it out with your partner. If you’re in a committed relationship, isn’t that the logical way to do it? I mean, my husband doesn’t own my uterus and I sure as hell don’t own his sperm. We both have rights over our reproduction, I think.

I do think "some" is the correct term here. Definitely a sizable number, but as there are a lot of women, quite a small percentage of the whole.

Enough, though, that you bet your ass the tantrums will make it to the news. They'll probably stick around for a bit, too.

Outrage makes good news tbh even when it's a fringe position, because then you have non-critical people like Ostroeuropa getting outraged over the outrage and consuming more content. It's a good business strategy that can be extended to a great variety of things.

It's not going to be on the market for about 10 years as lots and lots of testing is needed.

I mean that might have been from overall more sex in general. Probably though. My concern here is that men begin to view the gel as their contraceptive contribution.

It would be their contraceptive contribution. Their protection against infection, not so much.
