Yeah but some companies didn’t think of that... and maybe it’s also because not many solar panels can be placed on a car and thus they can not generate enough energy for the car to go for hundreds of miles?

But when they’re resting, they could still get energy, store it for another ride... so maybe it’s not that bad?

No. Not only would that destoy an entire industry, it would set humanity back collectively by hundreds of years.

The two problems you mentioned in the op ( deaths and pollution) can be fixed by better driver training and wide spread adoption of electric cars.

Both of which we are currently doing.

Not a lot of infrastructure for them in a lot of areas either.

That said, there are some pretty affordable ones depending on where you live. I could get one for <£20,000 with an effective range of about 100 miles, which would more than do me for my day to day usage.

I'm thinking OP was a little too inspired by the issue where a guy wants to ban cars and have everyone gallivanting merrily around the countryside in steam locomotives.

No, let's invest on wind power instead! As the car run it'll make some wind and then the wind will be used for energy to run even more! It will definitely work. After all, that's how sustainable energy work, right?

Yes, the future is electric cars, like it or not. They coincidentally answers the problem to cars emitting carbon dioxide.

It's not answering the battery-making pollution problem though, but on the other hand the end of personal car may be its silver bullet.

Then, only then will we have finally saved Mother Earth from the wrath of her children, mankind.

Why do you care so much about the planet? Aren't people more important?

When people express concern for the planet they almost never mean that they are concerned the globe itself will be destroyed, but rather the biosphere that sustains life on the planet, including people. This is a generally understood conceit and shouldn't have to be explained or specified.

Yeah... battery-making does make pollution... we do need to find alternative energy sources to power cars, but for a Long-term lasting energy source, we have to go for electric cars since oil can run out.

You remind me of that lady who says, ‘You are not the Father,’ shouts to the audience of the show that the guy is not the Father, only to reveal that he IS, and then goes crazy and then demands to see the results.

Similar to that lady, you are crazy and you play the victim.

Well, solar power is the best option, since the sun is out for most of the year.
Anyways,if we banned cars global trade would stop.
Cars are a intergal part of society nowadays, meaning if we banned cars, society would be critically hit.

Intermittent cloud covers and night time, though. I hope the reserve solar energy gained can make the car last. I’d say something that combines all forms of renewable energy, but that’d be expensive...

Wind power can be fairly constant depending on location.

Feel like we'd be better off advancing the battery tech and powering up from the grid.
