Well shit. Sorry Oregon timber workers, some people on the other side of the country think the people you voted for are stupid and petty. Looks like you better get your resumes ready and start applying at Walmart.

Yes, "politicians who have done a thing are likely to continue doing the thing unless stopped" seems pretty credible and realistic to most people.

Yeah how dare those people be allowed to vote or have representation relative to their population

How dare people in a rural district vote for senators who will represent their interests.

Don't you know? There's less of us so we should just accept the ignorant whims of Portland and Salem, regardless of what happens to us.

So how do they get to do what they want at the expense of large cities like Albany?

Yeah we should give them less representation or rig the election so their votes matter less. Or the minority should shut down the government because they dont get their way.

Again since they can stop the legislature from functioning with this stunt why bother showing up at all just run for election and say ill protect your interests by not doing anything and those evil people in Portland and the coast can't oppress you.

They have less residents so they get less representation. That's how representative democracy works.

And they have maneuvers available to keep from being stomped out entirely, like walkouts. This is also representative democracy.
