Tensions were already smoldering in the Oregon Senate Wednesday, when Sen. Brian Boquist, R-Dallas, poured gasoline on the situation, suggesting he would shoot and potentially kill any state trooper sent to haul him unwillingly back to the Capitol.

43 states have a smaller population than Los Angeles County. The Electoral College ensures that they have the same voice as the coastal elites. People think LA or NYC should in effect- determine the outcome of every election?

Nonexistent claims of advocating for fully open borders.
Just the vacancy?
Also what Ajit Pai did in this video has been more ridiculous then anything else.
Yeah, Definitely unfounded claims on open borders
The Vacancy itself caused a lot of problems because the dems couldn't take another Supreme court nomination, going so far as to make a false rape accusation against Kavanaugh. Overall, They reacted completely ridiculous during that time, more ridiculous than this oregon thing.

Oh, we're peddling that myth again?
People matter. Soil doesn't.

It is just as valid for people to take the position of, soil matters more. The founders of the nation arguably included the electoral college for a reason. Phasing it out is not in keeping with the spirit of the system the country has had from the beginning. Supporters of the Electoral College aren't going to let it get phased out without a fight.
